The Ego, the Worms, and the Work

The Ego, the Worms, and the Work

Hope you’ve had a solid week. As always, here’s your JITY dose of strange facts, mindset gains, and a look behind the curtain.

🍟 Factoid of the Week

1 in 8 Americans have worked at McDonald’s.
According to research from the University of Illinois, roughly 1 in 8 U.S. workers have been employed by McDonald’s at some point in their lives.

It’s one of the most common first jobs in America — and proof that where you start doesn't define where you finish.

🧠 Is your ego holding you back?

Something I’ve been trying to lean into more lately is putting my face in videos and talking about JITY.
But for a long time, the fear of being judged held me back.

I kept thinking:
“What if people from home see this and laugh?”
“What if the videos flop?”
“What if I’m just not good at it?”

It wasn’t until I took a step back that I realised — all of that was just ego.
Trying to protect me from embarrassment.
But that same ego was keeping me small.

Here’s what helped me and could help you finally jump in and stop caring so much:

  • You’re going to die one day.
Sounds heavy, but it’s the truth. Your body will be in the ground, and the worms will have their dinner. So why spend your life avoiding judgment from people who probably aren’t even chasing anything?

  • If you ever have kids, ask yourself this:
How can you tell them to chase their dreams if you didn’t chase yours? Imagine how much more powerful it is when they see their parent actually doing it. Not just talking — living it.

  • “What if I suck at this?”
You probably will at the start. I absolutely did and still do at making videos. But what a mad expectation to think we should be good at something straight away. No one starts out world-class. The reps are where it begins.

Once I let go of needing it to be perfect, the pressure disappeared.
Now I just show up. Honest. Rough around the edges. But moving forward.

And if you’re holding back because of what someone else might think?
This is your sign: do it anyway.

🏗️ JITY Update: Chasing Better

We’re getting closer.

The latest round of samples came back with an average rating of 7.5/10 — an improvement from the first batch, but still not where we want it to be. Encouraging? Yes. Good enough to launch? Not yet.

So, we’re heading back into the lab for a few more trials. Not chasing perfection — just aiming for better. Because at JITY, we don’t settle for "decent enough." We keep pushing.

The most common feedback?
You want stronger flavour.
And Cookies & Cream was a clear favourite — so we’re leaning into that flavour profile in the next iteration.

What we’re building stays the same:

✅ Whole food
✅ Gentle on the gut
✅ Complete aminos
✅ Built for performance — not just convenience

You’re starting to see the kind of brand we want to become.
One that earns trust quietly, by doing the work — not shouting the loudest.

JITY isn’t just about protein.
It’s about building something meaningful — mentally, physically, and without shortcuts.
