Spotting Energy Leaks, Chainsaws and Jity Momentum

🤯 Factoid of the Week:

Chainsaws were originally invented by two Scottish doctors as a tool to help widen the pelvic outlet during childbirth.

Wild, right? Sometimes you never really know what an invention will become until you look 25 years down the line.

🧠 This Week’s Learning:

Lately, I’ve been paying more attention to something I call my “energy leaks.” With my current routine — working from 5:40am until around 5/5:30pm, then spending evenings building JITY — I’ve realized just how important it is to protect and focus my energy. I’m not sharing this to say I have it all figured out, but to give you a little insight into my mindset and why I go deep into these learnings.

For me, the idea is simple: if I want to reach my potential, I need to understand where my energy is going and how to use it better. Here are a few “leaks” I’ve noticed in my own life — maybe you’ll recognize some of them too:

Unfinished tasks
I was leaving open loops in my mind by not tackling even the smallest jobs. Whether it was not following up with a customer who bought a hoodie, or something as simple as not filling the dishwasher, I kept pushing these five-minute tasks to “later.” But in reality, they stayed in my head as clutter and quietly drained my focus.

Constant notifications
Like it or not, every time a notification popped up, I’d check my phone. It completely destroyed my focus. So, I switched off notifications on all apps except WhatsApp — and the difference has been huge. Not just in productivity, but in my overall sense of peace.

Tolerating draining relationships
This one is tough because no one wants to come across as rude or uncaring. But when someone constantly speaks negatively, it can weigh you down mentally and physically. I’m not saying you should cut people out of your life, but if there’s that one person who always unloads their problems on you, try shifting the conversation, changing the subject, or (when it feels right) gently addressing it with them.

Negative self-talk
Probably the hardest leak to deal with. Negative self-talk eats away at your confidence, and no matter what anyone else tells you, your own opinion tends to carry the most weight. I definitely haven’t mastered this one yet, but I’ve learned that sometimes you have to push back against that voice — almost to the point of being “delusional” in a positive way. For months, I talked myself out of starting JITY because I let that inner voice take control.

Take five minutes with a sheet of paper and see if you can spot your own energy leaks. Start with the small ones — they’re quick wins that build momentum and snowball into bigger results over time.

And in the words of Higher Up Wellness: “It isn’t easy, but it is simple.”

🏗️ JITY Update:

We’ve got some really exciting news in the works… and while we can’t share the details just yet, trust us — it’s big. If all goes to plan, we’ll have everything ready to announce in the next newsletter. It’s a massive step forward for the brand and really levels up how professional we look.

On the product side, samples are rolling in again from the lab, and we’re getting closer to finalizing the end product. We’re planning one more sample run, which will go out to our newsletter subscribers once we’ve locked in the improvements based on your feedback from earlier rounds. After that — it’s on to full-scale production.

Also… our hoodies have officially sold out 🙌

Keep an eye on our Instagram for the next drop, plus details on where you’ll be able to grab them in person 👀👀
