The Line in the Sand

🚀 Fact of the Week
Researchers found that Google searches for “diet” spike more after birthdays than after New Year’s Day — even though most people don’t consciously think of birthdays as a fresh start.
The brain doesn’t need logic to reset — it just needs a line in the sand.
🧠This Week’s Lesson: The Fresh Start Effect
2026 is close enough to feel real now.
A clean page. A new chapter. A pen already in your hand.
The question isn’t what could change — it’s what story will you tell when 2026 ends?
Was it the year you took ownership?
Or just another one where life happened to you?
If you want momentum in January, the work starts now.
Energy needs a direction before the calendar flips.
There’s a line I come back to whenever I catch myself waiting to feel “ready”:
“Imagine how great you could be if you didn’t care how bad you currently are.”
We know this is true: starting a habit on a random December day is logically no different from starting on January 1st.
But psychologically? It’s a different game.
This is called the Fresh Start Effect.
People are more motivated to change after meaningful time markers:
A new year.
A birthday.
A new job.
A move.
A breakup or a beginning.
Why?
Because habits feed on routine — and transitions break routine automatically.
When your environment shifts:
- Old cues disappear
- New behaviours cost less mental energy
- Identity becomes more flexible
That’s why moving house is often when people change how they eat, sleep, or train — not because they’re more disciplined, but because the script has been interrupted.
So use the new year properly.
Fresh starts don’t fail because people don’t want change.
They fail because people aim too high, too fast.
Better looks like:
- 10 minutes daily instead of 1 hour
- Two sessions a week instead of every day
Because consistency doesn’t just build habits — it cements identity.
And identity is what carries you through the year, long after motivation fades.

🏗️ JITY Update
You may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter on social lately. That’s not by accident — it’s because most of our energy has been going where it matters right now: behind the scenes, deep in production.
The hype will come.
But first, the work.
The product is getting closer every week, and while JITY was founded in 2025, we already know this — 2026 will be remembered as the year it truly began.
We’re excited to get the product on shelves, into gyms, and into your hands. To run taste tests. To watch reactions. To surprise people with just how good the shakes actually are.
More than that, we’re stepping fully into the identity we envisioned from day one:
High-quality protein.
Self-improvement worth thinking about.
Statement garments that stand out without shouting.
If you’ve been here early — thank you. Your support, feedback, and belief in what we’re building has shaped the brand more than you know.
From all of us at JITY —
Merry Christmas.
We’ll be right here in 2026, helping you train harder, think deeper, and build something better.
